philanthropy, giving, helping, building a better world

Becoming a Philanthroptist

When you hear of philanthropy Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, and Amazon’s founder’s ex-wife MacKenzie Bozo tend to be the people that come to mind. But what is it really and do you need to be a part of the 1% to be considered a philanthropist too.

Philanthropy –  a person who donates time, money, experience, skills, or talent to help create a better world.

Based on the definition of the goal of a philanthropist there’s no requirement that you have to be of the 1% to want to use your resources to build a better world. Of course, having vast financial wealth can create more opportunities; however, I believe change can happen with the resources you have here and now.

Philanthropy is something I want Sunshine Family Excellence to be known for, using the power of education to create a better world one family at a time, by providing information and knowledge to give them another step towards success. I often talk to families who are first-generation or recent migrants and they are unaware of tools and resources that are being offered to them by their community to help their family elevate their status, usually with a little conversation unlocking that information will cause them to respond to their community in a different way.

I hope to see that change within the year and to update this blog as time goes on. I’m excited to see the goals that will be achieved!
